This is something that I wrote 12 years ago at the age of 10, exactly 5 years and 1 month after the death of my Great Grandmother, a woman who I loved more than life itself
I sit and think, and begin to cry
Alone and sad, and I know exactly why.
At night I dream that you are here,
That you love me still and wipe away my tears.
Life would be different if you weren't gone,
I wouldn't be sad, alone or feel wrong.
You were an Angel that only I could see,
Sent to earth to just love me.
4 years wasn't much but more than enough,
You were the one who made me tough.
Guess I was the stars in your eyes,
They all hated it, they knew you were mine.
Can remember when you couldn't open your eyes,
I didn't understand though I know I tried.
Then you left and I didn't know where you were,
They didn't tell me until you became one with the earth.
The pain was so bad, like the stab of a knife,I
would have gone with you, given up my life.
You didn't tell me as I held your hand,
I held you tightly as you left this land.
You were ready, but I wasn't as such,
I love you, I miss you so much.
Your stone stands with your name in gold,
I am always sad now, alone and so cold.
I miss you, I try hard not to cry,
It's really hard though, I promise I'll try.
I'm still the girl who stands next to you,
My love and heart left with you.
I still see you and I, walking down the path,
You will always live in my heart
